Occasional bad egg

I, TOO, am pleased that the woman who owned the vicious dog that killed the cob swan in Brookfield Park has come forward.

However, I find the ignorance of Mildred Peters (Gazette letters, July 5) intolerable – why should all dogs be muzzled?

There is the occasional bad egg, I admit, but nowhere near as many as humans.

To restrict their freedom in such a manner is not required.

Should a dog owner not to be able to control the animal, then they should be given a severe fine and perhaps banned for life from keeping a dog.

Or the owner should keep the animal on a lead. It is the dog owner that should be addressed.

Anyone letting their dog off the lead is responsible and must keep it under control.

I do not believe that dogs are born vicious, they are made, apart from the slight chance of mental illness.
