Link road plans burden the roads and the pockets
I HAVE just extricated myself from a log-jam of traffic at the Conquest Hospital roundabout.
How much worse will it be if the overpriced Hastings-Bexhill Link Road is built, and a whole load more traffic is displaced from Bexhill Road to The Ridge?
Not to mention the fact that supporters of the link road are touting it as an opportunity to build hundreds of new houses and industrial units along/around it, this in an area that is already over-populated, where landfill is in crisis, water is getting scarcer, and public services of every kind (with shrinking budgets, as we all know) are trying to cope with increased demand already.
East Sussex County Council should kill this road proposal now, once and for all.
