LETTER: Huge amount of brown field space

Councillor Ray Dawe in his column (16/1/14) rejects new businesses moving into existing commercial and industrial space but doesn’t this conflict with the approach outlined in his own Economic Development Strategy where Horsham

District Council proposed to incentivise existing landlords to upgrade their premises?

This was noted in economist Harry Shutt’s excellent critique

published in this paper in December.

So has councillor Dawe changed HDC’s strategy in favour of this green field 500,000 sq ft industrial park?

If so then there will be a huge amount of empty brown field and unused commercial property in Horsham.
