I am writing to you from Bournemouth where thousands of Liberal Democrats have filled the International Conference Centre and have passed policy on adequate housing, tackling poverty, protecting human rights, renewable energy, local democracy and providing statutory youth services.

All of these issues are absolutely key to the future of Hastings, St Leonards and Rye.

With the Labour Party having failed to oppose £12bn in Tory welfare cuts prevented by Lib Dems over the previous five years, and the Tories continuing their pernicious plans, unconstrained, to dismantle public services; u-turning most recently on a social care costs cap, has there ever been more of a need for the Liberal Democrats?
