Grateful thanks

I WOULD like to express my grateful thanks to the trustees of Littlehampton Shopmobility for having allowed me the free hire of a scooter for all these months.

Without the use of the scooter, I would have been unable to collect all the thousands of signatures on the petition-letters for the “Give Us Our Hospital” campaign.

I was so pleased to travel up to London on Monday last week with the town mayor, Alan Gammon, and other councillors, to watch the leader of Arun District Council, Gillian Brown, hand over the letters to No. 10 Downing Street.

I would also like to thank my wonderful friends, Millie and Fred Harman, who came on the bus from their Arundel home especially to help me obtain even more signatures – their aid was invaluable.

Finally, my thanks to you, as editor of the Gazette, your coverage during the campaign has been exceptional.

We need our hospital, and must have it as soon as possible!
