Dedicated railway man deserves more support

MAY I take this opportunity of saying through your paper how sad I was to read about Colin Evans' comments on not carrying on with the Littlehampton Miniature Railway (Gazette, September 3)?

I remember with pleasure taking my grandsons on the train, and how lovely Colin and his late wife, Barbara, were. Both of them were totally dedicated to making sure everyone enjoyed themselves.

I also know how much maintenance work they put in and the long hours.

Despite all the obstacles they had to overcome, they never gave up.

It is such a shame that Colin doesn't get the support and help he needs from Arun District Council after all these years.

Instead of the council quoting terms and conditions, he deserved more than that and I for one will be very sorry if he decides to go.
