LETTER: Everlasting Seaford pothole

We have some '˜everlasting potholes' in our avenue.

I first reported these potholes last January and again in June.

They are getting wider, they are getting longer but their depth remains at 3.5 cms, because they are down to the concrete.

They will probably stay at this depth for decades to come. ESCC tell me that the criteria for attending to these holes is “a depth of 4 cms or more” so they are not able to repair them.

Cars swerve to avoid them and it is only a matter of time before there is an accident. Lumps of bitumen get flicked up by cars... another hazard.

If any of your readers would like to see these ‘everlasting potholes’, visit Lindfield Avenue in Seaford, but come in a Land Rover or tractor to avoid damaging your suspension.
