LETTER: Don't try to run when you're 91

On Tuesday, November 1, I tripped and fell heavily onto the pavement in Mount Pleasant Road.

The driver of an approaching bus left his cab, helped me to a sitting position, wrapped his warm coat around me and phoned for an ambulance. He stayed with me until it arrived.

A young lady who was passing gave me some tissues to deal with a small head wound and a nearby resident came out with a warm blanket.

All this kindness was greatly appreciated, and I wish to thank everyone who was concerned.

The crew of the ambulance were caring, efficient and reassuring. I escaped with just a lot of bruises and a black eye.

My motto now is: ‘Don’t try to run when you’re 91!’
