We felt compelled to write to put straight several inaccuracies that were contained within Mr Mole’s letter printed in the December 2 edition of the Hastings Observer.

We and the 15 teachers that teach here, as well as the 150 students that come here each week for lessons, and the 15 bands that rehearse here weekly can assure you that our school is not only very well attended, but is also vibrant and thriving.

We quite agree that we are inconspicuous, however, we are very happy to be under the radar and in fact, save for a Facebook page, have no need to advertise (despite Mr Mole’s further inaccurate assertions), relying solely on word of mouth to attract students to our school.

We would welcome a visit from Mr Mole as clearly he has never been inside our building, and will look forward to his written apology thereafter.

It’s a shame that he is so fixated on the cosmetic image of Western road, and is so quick to judge a book by its cover.
