My name is Brett McLean and I am a business and community leader who was born and bred here within the Borough of Hastings and this is my Opinion.
As Chairman for the East Sussex County Councils Economic Advisory Board, Ambassador to Locate East Sussex and a consumer I was delighted to welcome new businesses to our Borough.
The first being SEAGATE Hastings which is a high quality independent bespoke gentleman’s clothing shop located at 58, High Street which is located in the heart of the Old Town which coincidentally 101 years ago was a gentleman’s tailors.
The second new business based at The Hair Priory at 280, Priory Road Hastings was set up by Clare Chambers and Dawny Osborne called The Cambridge Weight Plan Clinic and it’s aim is to help local residents who are over weight to lose weight so they become their ideal weight thus improving the quality of their lives.
Following the official ribbon cutting ceremony special guests were given a free body analysis accompanied by a personalised weight reduction plan provided by their team of specialists.
Last Wednesday I was delighted to host the monthly Chairman’s Business And Community Breakfast Club held at the Azur at the Marina Pavilion where 50 businesses and community groups were represented and networked over breakfast.
This month’s guest speakers were Dawn Alba from Write Power a writing and advocacy service and Tony Smith from the Brown bread Horse Rescue Centre.
Finally,I am delighted to announce that I will be hosting alongside my friend Gina Williams the Annual Hastings and Rother Charities Fair to be held at Azur on Sunday 18th October from 10am to 5pm.
