Much needed children’s nursery places and local jobs are being created with the opening of a new nursery and pre-school in St Leonards.
Little Skaters , owned by It is owned by Total Childcare Services Ltd, is set to open its doors in Stockleigh Road on September 1.
It will cater for up to 50 children aged from 0 to 5 years and is expected to create at least seven jobs within its first year of opening.
Hastings MP Amber Rudd paid a visit to the new nursery and said: ““It was great to see the lovely new premises of Little Skaters Nursery, with its quiet area, garden and the many other facilities on offer.
“I was impressed by the highly professional staff and the expertise they offer during the nursery’s generous, seven days per week, opening hours. I am sure many families in Central St Leonards will soon be delighted to take advantage of this brand new nursery.”
Managing Director Nick Porter, said: “Our nursery and pre-school offers a great opportunity to create local jobs for local people as well as providing childcare for working parents and other parents/carers who need childcare.
“We aim to offer work placements for local parents so they can combine using their free childcare hours whilst training and studying for childcare qualifications at the same time. This is a great opportunity for parents to increase their qualifications in a profession where qualified workers are in demand.
“We were supported by Locate East Sussex in obtaining a £10k economic investment grant. The grant was essential in allowing this project to move forward Philip Johnson of Locate East Sussex commented: “We’ve been delighted to work with TCS Childcare to help them access the funding The nursery will offer a valuable and much needed service to local families”.
