WI: Terri Simmons will entertain the WI with a talk on Sugar in Spring, which sounds intriguing. There will be a competition for an Easter Bonnet, so we may well have an Easter Parade too. The WI meets in the Jenkins Room from 2 to 4pm on the first Wednesday of the month and visitors are always welcome. Call Margaret Hinds 01797 253341 for more details.

Spring Show: The Horticultural Society’s Spring Show will be on Saturday 9th April, and is always great fun to take part. If you like Bake Off or the Gardening Challenge, then have a go – and you don’t have to have your methods watched! Take the opportunity to engage with a timeless village tradition, with the emphasis on enjoyment rather than competitiveness (though it’s always rather nice to win a class!). There’s something for everyone, from a single daffodil to a piece of pottery, via photographs, chutney, knitted toys and leeks. Do take a look at the schedule, available online through the village website: northiamvillage.co.uk or contact Alison Kirk – 01797 252525.

Parish Meeting: Make a note to keep Tuesday 12th free – the Annual Parish meeting will be held in the Village Hall from 7pm. This is a good opportunity to find out what is going on in the village, who your councillors are and generally have your say.

Church Services (3rd): St Mary’s: 8am Holy Communion, 10.30am Holy Communion. St Teresa’s: 9am Mass
