North Bersted youth club members keep their eyes on the prize

A NORTH Bersted youth club is going for gold. Youngsters from the North Bersted Youth Club have travelled to Windsor today to compete for a funding boost which will help them promote their club.

Volunteer Lee Whiston said: “We are taking part in the Reaching for Gold competition which is designed to encourage innovative ideas from young people that can make a practical and sustainable difference to the community.

“We will be asking for £3,000 for a portable MC/DJ.

“Music is something which despite cultural, racial, or gender differences we all have in common. Something which binds communities.”

Lauren Miller, 17, Jess Brooks, 14, Hadley Nicol, 14, and Alex, 14, will also take part in the presentation which featured film clips of the centre and interviews with PCSOs and parish councillors.
