“It is a real privilege and I am looking forward to getting out and about to meet the communities across Rother and learn what concerns they have about local policing.

“I am inheriting a strong team of staff and police officers, some of whom I have already met and others who I am looking forward to getting to know over the next few months.

“I am local to the district and it is great to be given the opportunity to oversee the policing of an area that I know and love.”

Ch Insp Botting has been a serving officer with Sussex Police for 27 years.
