A NEW one-stop shop offering free support to people who want to stop smoking and other health advice has opened in St Leonards.
Hastings MP Amber Rudd, along with Councillor Jeremy Birch, leader of Hastings Borough Council, officially launched the new service at the walk-in health advice shop in London Road.
The shop was funded by the council and is run by the NHS in East Sussex to give local people easy access to a range of stop smoking services. This includes free, friendly and expert support and the opportunity to access a range of nicotine replacement therapy.
Resources and information on other health and well-being services, including sexual health, mental well-being, Health Trainer services and alcohol and substance misuse services are also on offer. Drop-in sessions to help people stop smoking will be run and appointments for clients wishing to access support from the local Health Trainers team will be available.
Stop smoking clinics will be held at the shops on Mondays between noon and 3pm, Wednesdays between 9am and noon and Fridays between 9.30am and 11.30am.
