New hope for vitgal Sussex railway link

A vital West Sussex rail service, threatened with the axe, could be saved following a government rethink.

The non-stop express train link between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport had been earemarked for the scrap heat in plans to replace it with stopping trains to ease the overcrowding on the London to Brighton line.

The Board of Airline Representatives in the UK said it was hopeful the service, which is essential for airport users, could be saved.
