The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Bruce Dowling, attended The Pocket Park’s celebratory evening yesterday (Thursday, June 25) to admire the newly installed gazebo created by students of Sussex Coast College.
Students and staff of the college, who offered to undertake the design, manufacture and installation of the gazebo as part of their studies, also attended the event. The gazebo was funded by charitable donations from Sussex Community Foundation, based in Lewes.
The Pocket Park is a wildlife and community growing project, off Hughenden Road, Hastings. Open to all it is a place to play, grow and have fun. The park is managed by a keen group of volunteers under the supervision of the Better Braybrooke charity.
