Music services appoints a new choir leader
A county council spokesman said that due to a demand to focus on choral and vocal work more widely, Emily Barden had been appointed to the new post.
Ms Barden would be developing new and existing choirs for all ages, including the West Sussex music service county choirs, leading a growing team of vocal teachers for schools and other settings.

Hide AdCllr Peter Griffiths, county cabinet member for education and schools, said the appointment followed on from the award to the music service of a 'grade one with outstanding features' accolade by the Federation of Music Services in partnership with the department for children schools and families.
"Emily's role will aim to provide a stunning new dimension to the provision already available," he added.
Ms Barden graduated from Paul McCartney's Music School, Liverpool, in 2002. She has been part of the Sense of Sound Choir, winners of BBC Radio 3 choir of the year open category in 2007.
She has taught as a music lecturer and was head of music at a primary school.
