Museum curator tospeak to local group

Following on from a successful Activities Day Hastings and Rother U3A talks season will continue on Monday November 23 at the Azur on St Leonards seafront.

It will take place downstairs in the Round Room, [lift available] when Julian Porter, Curator of Bexhill Museum, will be talking about Bexhill’s first pavilion, the Kursaal.

The meeting starts at 10.15am and the talk will begin at 10.45am.

Carole Woodland, from U3A, said: “Refreshments are available from 9.45am so why not come along and bring a friend or neighbour with you if you like.

“You can attend two meetings before you decide whether to join. You will be met by a greeter and asked to sign in.”

Hastings and Rother U3A (University of the Third Age) has a wide range of interest groups and meetings for people who are retired or semi-retired.

These include a book club, creative writing, current affairs, art appreciation, bird-watching, gardening and flower arranging.

The group also has some interesting online courses and can offer help with using computers and I.T.

U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. Members of U3A share their skills and life experiences, says the organisation. The U3A movement is supported by its national organisation, the Third Age Trust.
