She says she’s chosen to take the 13.1 mile challenge for the charity as she has seen first-hand what an amazing impact their services can have on a carer’s life.

“This will be my first attempt at the Hastings Half Marathon and I’m excited,” she said.

Oliver, a Robsack Wood Primary Academy student, will run the Half Marathon Mini Run.

He says he started running with the school cross country team last year, adding: “Since then I have taken part in three organised runs with my mum and Dad.

“I really enjoyed taking part and getting the medals too.”

Louise and Oliver join twelve other runners on The Association of Carers team, including Sue Palmer, director of the charity who appeals for anyone who will be out supporting the Half Marathon to cheer them on.

Robsack Wood executive principal, Caroline Thayre says the school is very proud of Oliver and his determination to participate in the Half Marathon Mini Run for a very worthy cause.

“Oliver is a fantastic example of what our pupils can achieve when they set their minds to a challenge,” she said.

“Good luck and I hope you raise lots of money.”
