Hastings MP Amber Rudd joined staff and students at Buckswood School on Friday (January 16) to tour their range of green initiatives.
As Minister for Energy and Climate Change Amber was keen to learn about their endeavours to reduce energy costs and promote clean and renewable energy sources.
She said: “Investing in renewable energy is crucial to improving our energy security as well as reducing emissions. We now have a record amount of green electricity, with more than 15 per cent coming from renewables. It is fantastic to see Buckswood leading the way in Hastings with a Biomass boiler, solar farm and reed bed filtration system.”
Giles Sutton, headmaster, said: “We were delighted to welcome Amber Rudd to the school.”
