A driver had a lucky escape in a car crash early this morning (Friday).
He was travelling along Lower Park Road at just after 5am when the Nissanb Duke smashed into a tree.
The motorist managed to jump out of the vehicle before it burst into flames.
Emergency services were called to the scene.
Firefighters used foam and a high pressure hose to put out the blaze while the driver was treated by paramedics.
George Wippich, watch commander at Bohemia Road Fire Station, said: “On arrival we found a vehicle engine compartment and flames spreading into the car. The driver was found 100 yards away and treated by paramedics. He wasn’t serious;y injured.”
