Meeting will discuss flood defences in East Preston

Villagers in East Preston who were affected by flooding last year have been invited to attend a meeting with experts from the county council, next week.

Representatives from West Sussex County Council will be hosting the event – set to discuss future improvement works in the village – on Wednesday (January 23) at the Conservative Hall, in Sea Road, at 7pm.

Many homes across the Arun district were hit by flooding in June and December during one of the wettest years since records began.

Simon Cross, clerk to the parish council, said: “I hope as many East Preston residents that were affected by flooding last year come along to the meeting.

“This is an important opportunity not only to learn what West Sussex County Council’s plans are, but also to raise any additional questions or concerns.”
