Wartime medals were stolen during a burglary in town.
The medals from the Second World War were taken in the break-in happened in Carlisle Parade, which police said happened between 10am on Sunday (August 4) and 3.10pm the following Tuesday (August 6).
The victim had several items of value taken, including a set of stainless steel Le Creuset pans, an 18 carat gold-plated fountain pen (possibly a Parker), as well as the four medals, one of which was an Africa Star and another an Italy Star.
DC James Parkinson, from Hastings Priority Crime Team, said: “These inherited items hold immense sentimental value to the victim of this crime. I am appealing to all second-hand dealers to contact police right away if they believe they are offered these items for sale.”
