Chief Executive of The Sara Lee Trust Dan Redsull and brother-in-law Chris Green took on the challenging Beachy Head Marathon last weekend (October 24) and to date have raised close to £1,000.
Dan and Chris are keen to raise funds to help the Trust which was badly affected by the fire at St Michael’s Hospice in July. Speaking prior to the marathon, Dan said: “After months of training my now creaky knees are asking me the reasonable question of why on earth? I have no answer except that they are going to be working very hard, perhaps too hard, for a wonderful cause.”
Dan says although the Trust has managed to maintain it’s full quota of services to all its patients, the fire placed extra challenges on already stretched resources, adding: “Chris and I wanted to do what we could to help, not only by raising funds, but also to highlight the excellent services the Trust offers to people in Hastings and Rother who are living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.”
The pair successfully completed the run and to date their just giving page total stands at £965.
