Man sustains head injuries in suspected fall

A man suffered head injuries after falling onto the beach this afternoon (Wednesday).

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene opposite the Pig in Paradise just after 3.35pm.

The man was found semi-conscious and is believed to have fallen from the promenade onto the beach.

Lee Mepham, watch commander at Bohemia Road Fire Station, said crews were called to assist paramedics in lifting the casuality off the beach into a portable stretcher before he was taken to hospital for treatment.

He added that the cause of the man’s injuries remained unknown but police were called to the scene.
