Man suffers cuts, bruises and chipped teeth in unprovoked attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 30-year-old man was assaulted in St Leonards-on-Sea at the weekend.

The victim has been driving home along Archery Road between 1.15am and 1.20am on Saturday, February 7 when a man, aged 18 to 25, in a group of men and women, hit the side of a car with what is thought to be a bottle.

When the driver got out to check his car, three men approached him and repeatedly punched him, breaking his glasses.

He suffered cuts, bruises and chipped teeth and attended hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant Tony Webb said, “This was an unprovoked cowardly attack on a lone driver and we are asking anyone who may have seen anything or have any other information about the incident to get in contact.”
