Police in Hastings want to trace 21-year-old Phineus Ambrose Float who is sought for interview over a serious assault in town.

At about 3am on Saturday, March 14, a 28-year-old local man was a customer in Club XS in Prospect Place, Hastings, when he was involved in a confrontation which resulted in him sustaining serious facial injuries for which he received hospital treatment.

Float was believed until recently to be living in Hastings but has connections with Brighton and with Hull on Humberside. He is 6ft tall and of medium build.

Police believe that he is aware that they want to talk to him, and that he may be staying with a family member or a friend somewhere to avoid arrest. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex or Humberside Police on 101 quoting reference number Sussex reference 159 of 14/3. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

Detective Constable Ian Dearling, of Sussex Police, said: “This was a nasty assault in which the victim received a number of lacerations to his face, resulting in life long scarring. I would appeal to anyone who knows where Phineus Float is to contact the police.”
