Firefighters were called to help rescue a man who managed to slide down a cliff face after running from police officers this lunchtime (Wednesday, March 29).
A spokesperson from Sussex Police said the man climbed over some railings at St Michael’s Place and managed to slide down a cliff face at around noon.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to help free the man who become trapped between railings and the cliff.
Hastings firefighters used an aerial ladder platform appliance and, with the help of the rope rescue team from Bexhill, the man was rescued and released into the care of paramedics at around 2.20pm.
He was taken to the Conquest Hospital with a wrist injury and cut to his forehead.
