Man is attacked in town

Police in Hastings are appealing for witnesses to an assault that occurred in the pedestrianised part of the town’s Queen’s Road.

A 26-year-old man was attacked at around 1am on Friday, January 16 in the street.

Police said the victim suffered a deep facial cut and other cuts and bruises as a result of the assault.

The injuries he sustained required hospital treatment

Investigating officers said it is possible that the victim may have been struck with a weapon during the incident in Queen’s Road.

Five people, a 31-year-old man, two 19-year-old men and two 20-year-old women, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of being involved in the attack and all were bailed until Thursday, March 19 while enquiries continue.
