Man hospitalised after pub brawl

A brawl in a popular town centre pub ended up with one reveller nursing serious facial injuries.

The scrap broke out at the Havelock at just after 1am on Saturday, August 14, in front of a packed bar - with a host of punters helping to pull the fighting pub-goers apart.

A 21-year-old man was taken to the Conquest Hospital and had his face stitched. He is now likely to need corrective surgery to fully repair the damage.

Now police want to hear from anyone who was in the pub at the time.

DC Rob Tillyer said: "The victim was pretty badly beaten."
