Man exposes himself in front of women and girls

A man is being sought by police after indecently exposing himself in front of women and girls.

The first incident happened in Old London Road near the speed camera at around 4.50pm last Thursday (May 30).

Two women were sitting in a parked car when they heard a noise and saw a man appear from some bushes who then exposed himself to them. The women shouted at him and he disappeared back into the bushes.

A second incident happened at the same location five minutes later at 4.55pm. This time two girls were walking up the road, they heard a whistle then saw the man and again he did the same thing.

The third one took place at about 5pm in Broomgrove Road. Again two girls were walking up the road when the man appeared and exposed himself to them.

The man is described as white, aged in his mid 40s, about 5ft 7ins, of medium build, with short dark hair, and grey stubble. He wore workman trousers with paint on them and a dark coloured top.

Sergeant Che Donald said: “I would like to reassure the community that this man hasn’t tried to make physical contact with any of the women and they were all unharmed. The best advice I can give is to follow the example of all the victims and that is to call us at the earliest opportunity. Since these three incidents were reported, we have not had any more calls to date.”

Anyone with information or who recognises the description of the suspect call Sussex Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting serial 1054 of 27/05.
