Man attacked in town centre

A MAN required hospital treatment after being attacked in the town centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (December 1).

The 19-year-old victim was walking home along Queens Road after a night out, at 3.45am, when he was set upon by two men near the Imperial pub.

They took turns to punch him in the face before he fell to the floor, where he was then kicked in the face.

Four men who were walking past Morrison’s supermarket ran over to stop the attack and the offenders ran off.

The victim was taken to the Conquest Hospital, where he was treated for a suspected broken nose and fractures to his left cheek bone and eye socket.

PC Elise Beckham, of Hastings Police, said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man walking home from a night out.”

Police would like to speak to the four men who went to help the victim as well as anyone else who saw what happened or knows anything about the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 0289 of 1/12.
