Man arrested over Hastings bomb scare released on bail

The man arrested over the bomb scare in Hastings has been released on bail until next year.

The 40-year-old man was arrested following the security incident that caused the town centre to be evacuated for four hours on Friday (December 11).

The man from Hastings has been released on bail until March 1, while investigations continue.

He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and a bomb hoax after a suspicious package was left in McDonald’s.
