Mallydams’ summer events to mark 50th anniversary

A WILDLIFE centre is laying on a host of family events over the summer to mark its 50th anniversary.

The RSPCA’s Mallydams in Fairlight will first be staging a woodland picnic on Saturday, July 16 from 11.30am to 3pm.

Children can enjoy a storytelling session at Goodman’s Glade at 1.30pm.

On the same day, from 7.30pm, teams of six can battle it out in a quiz night. The cost is £5 per person. The quiz will be held at Fairlight Village Hall and booking is required.

Children aged 10 to 12 can venture out into the realms of night time creatures, looking out for bats and badgers on Friday, July 22 from 6pm until 10am the next day.

Youngsters can also go badger watching at dusk. Again booking is required.

An illustrated talk entitled Urban Gulls, a Friend or Foe? will take place on Wednesday, July 27 from 7.30pm.

There is no charge, but a donation towards the wildlife centre is appreciated.

A mid-summer stroll on Saturday, July 30, runs from 1pm to 4pm, where visitors can enjoy a self-guided walk and visit the centre’s bird hide. No booking is required.
