Littlehampton woman shocked by intruder

A WOMAN in Littlehampton was in for a shock when she returned home – only to find an intruder in her house.

Police were called shortly before 11.30pm on Friday (August 8) to a house in Timberleys.

Upon being discovered, the suspected burglar attempted to flee, jumping over a fence to escape, police said.

However, the bungling burglar hurt themselves while attempting to run away and was later captured.

Police have now charged Sally Denley, 29, of Conway Drive, Pagham, with burglary.

She appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday (August 11) and was released on bail to appear at Chichester Crown Court on September 12.
