Littlehampton Museum’s annual art exhibition is open for entries

ARTISTS from across Sussex are being invited to brush down their easels and focus their cameras to take part in an open art exhibition in Littlehampton.

The town’s museum will be holding its popular annual event, the Littlehampton Open, from July 26 to September 19, and is now seeking entries.

This is the third year of the event at the museum, in Church Street, and both professional artists and amateurs of any age can submit their work, with this year’s theme being ‘the deep blue sea’.

The museum hopes a wide range of artists will take part – from painters and photographers to sculptors and embroiderers.

Councillor Malcolm Belchamber, chairman of Littlehampton Town Council’s community resources committee, said he was excited about this year’s Littlehampton Open. He said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of 2014’s Open. The last two years have showcased some amazing artists and I am looking forward to seeing this year’s entries.”

The open event is free to take part in and selected entries will have their work displayed in a special exhibition at the museum in the summer.

Up to three entries may be submitted by artists.
