Little Common Flower Club

A GENEROUS donation of £450 from the Little Common Village Flower Club will help to create a respite centre for young adults and their families.

The group presented the cheque to Jeanette Atkinson, of Rachael's House, in Eastbourne.

Following the death of her daughter, Rachael, to cancer in 2002, Jeanette came up with the idea of a hotel to allow young adults who suffer from life limiting illnesses to enjoy a holiday by the sea with their families.

She is seeking funding to allow her dream to become a reality.

Jeanette said: "Rachael's House will offer the gold standard in holiday respite care for all these families, giving them some of the special time that is left, not only to be together, but to also gather those very precious memories of happier moments."

The flower club raised the money through a fund raising lunch.
