A robbery which took place at a Bexhill bookmakers over the weekend is being not linked to a similar incident in 2014, police have said.
Staff at Betfred in Cooden Sea Road, Little Common, were confronted by the assailant just after 8pm on Saturday night (March 26).
A man with a covered face threatened workers and fled the shop with several hundred pounds.
In November 2014, two masked men burst in to the bookies and threatened a member of staff with a handgun.
One of the men leapt over the counter and took the contents of the till before the pair escaped with several hundred pounds of cash.
But Sussex Police say the two incidents are not being linked.
A spokesperson for the force said: “The previous incident at the premises in November 2014 has been reviewed, but has not been linked at this time.
“That involved two men with what appeared to be handguns, whereas this recent incident involved one man and no weapon was seen.”
No-one was ever arrested over the 2014 robbery.
Witnesses to Saturday’s incident are asked to contact police at email@example.com or call 101, quoting serial 1255 of 26/03.
