Talented Makoto Iso, from Japan, studied performing arts at The Hastings Stage Studio where she trained for several years in singing, dancing and acting. Director of The Hastings Stage Studio Vanessa Pohlhammer says local people may be familiar with Makoto. “With the highly professional training that the Studio provided, Makoto became such a strong, westernised performer that she then went straight into the professional theatre, performing in The King and I, Hello Dolly, commercials, pop videos, and of course The Lion King,” she said. “Local readers will remember Makoto from many past Hastings Stage Studio shows, studying ballet at the school (pictured) where she delighted audiences with her beautiful dancing and singing and lovely stage presence.”

Vanessa says Makoto’s master class workshop. which will be held on Monday June 19 at The Hastings Stage Studio, York Gardens, Hastings, is a fabulous opportunity. “It is open to boys and girls of all ages and adults are welcome after school, work and college. So if you have ever fancied learning West End choreography from The Lion King now is your chance!”

Age groups and times of the workshops are: 8-11yrs, 5-6pm; 12-15yrs, 6.15-7.15pm; 16yrs and over, 7.30-8.30pm.
