BOTH Hastings lifeboats were launched into a storm last Saturday (March 16) and the action was expertly captured on camera by Mark Hyson.
It was raining heavily, with a gale whipping the sea up into a three-metre breaking surf.
The lifeboats were called out just after 10am following reports of a woman in the water at Bexhill.
However the person was seen to be safely ashore soon after, and the lifeboats were stood down.
Lifeboat operations manager, Peter Adams, said: “With the sea state being so poor there was a great concern over the welfare of anyone venturing into the waves. All of the volunteer lifeboat crew at Hastings are relieved that everyone concerned eventually made it safely back to shore.”
