LIBRARY RE-OPENS

Willingdon and Polegate County Councillor Stephen Shing said: "I am delighted that the Willingdon library will be re-opening ahead of schedule following the closure for essential electrical and heating works. Congratulations to all the contractors who have worked hard to achieve this excellent result and all county officials whom are involved in this. As a result residents in this area will be able to use Willingdon library sooner and I am grateful for their good work.

Sometime ago, residents mentioned to me that Willingdon library has not had any improvement for over 30 years, since that time as a county councillor I have been working closely with the county council over the refurbishment and campaign for more computers. I am pleased to see that the Willingdon library has been fully refurbished, updated computers with broadband internet access and now completed with essential electrical and heating works."

The doors open again on April 19.
