Ark William Parker and Helenswood Academies welcomed guests to their dazzling Year 11 prom on Thursday June 25.
The theme for the evening was “Gatsby” and the décor and ambience created reflected the decadent glamour of the roaring 20’s.
The young men and women made their entrances in all modes of transport ranging from classic vintage cars and limousines to a monster truck. Other vehicles included campervans, an Aston Martin, a motorbike and an army jeep.
Parents, staff and members of the public looked on as some of Hastings’ brightest and best arrived to celebrate together.
The young women from Helenswood looked stunning in their beautiful gowns, as did the young men from Ark William Parker in their evening attire.
Guests enjoyed an excellent buffet, dancing and music and, as the evening drew to a close, gathered for a spectacular firework display.
The students raised the money throughout the year to fund a great DJ, professional photographer, photo booth and the ever important chocolate fountain. Ms Grimmer, Head of Year 11 at Ark William Parker, said: “What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of their GCSE examinations and indeed the end of their compulsory school careers.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my role this year and what a privilege it was to be invited to spend the evening with such an amazing group of young achievers so full of hope and anticipation for the bright futures that lay ahead. Good luck to you Year 11; You rocked!”
