Hastings Borough Council is inviting people to come along and meet the team who empty their bins each week and learn how they can up their recycling efforts.
You can meet the council’s recycling and waste teams at their road shows taking place during National Recycling Week which runs from June 22 – 26.
Hastings Borough Council has joined forces with Recycle Now the national recycling campaign for England, supported and funded by the Government
Now in its 12th year Recycle Week is a celebration of everything about recycling, with this year’s theme being ‘Recycling Around the Home’.
Tracy Hobden, from the council, said: “The aim of the week is to encourage the public to think about items that can be recycled from all rooms in the house.
“Council officers will be on hand at the road show events to give help and advice about recycling in the home and to help people recycle more things, more often.
“More than six out of ten of us now describe ourselves as committed recyclers, compared to less than half when the campaign began in 2004.”
The road show will be appearing next week at the following venues around the town from 10am – 4pm.
It will be at the front of Morrisons supermarket, in Queens Road on Monday 22; Kings Road, St Leonards, opposite Peridot Jewellers on 23; Silverhill, near the Co-op on Wednesday 24; the town centre, Priory Meadow,, opposite Body Shop on Thursday 25 and on the Stade, in the Old Town on Friday 26.
