Kelly’s concert to mark 10th anniversary of dad’s death

A YOUNG woman is planning a concert to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice on the 10th anniversary of her father’s death.

Kelly O’Shaughnessy, 18, of Beachy Head View, St Leonards, along with her mother, Sarah, is behind the Musical Memories concert to take place at the Masonic Hall, in East Ascent, St Leonards, on Saturday, June 30.

Her father Barry Sherwood, passed away at the hospice in 2002, aged 41, after a short battle with cancer, and Kelly said: “Ten years ago my dad passed away in St Michaels Hospice and I wanted to arrange something really special to raise money to thank them for all the care and support that they showed to us as a family at that sad time.”

A variety of local groups and musicians are on the line-up, and Kelly, who plans to study Performing Arts at university, will herself be singing.

There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Everyone taking part in the event has donated their time free of charge, and all proceeds will go to the hospice.

The evening kicks off at 7pm with a free disco. For those wishing to stay for the live music, tickets are £4 for adults, £2 for children, £10 for a family ticket (two Adults + two children), and £3 for students/OAPs.
