JERWOOD Gallery has won a competition to host the Chapman Brothers for a one-off event as part of the national Museums at Night Festival.
The gallery won with 43 per cent of the public vote, securing the artists for a special day and evening of
activities on Saturday, May 18.
Three other national venues, Bart’s Pathology Museum, the Museum of London and Cheltenham Art
Gallery were shortlisted to host the Turner Prize nominated duo.
Liz Gilmore, director of the Jerwood Gallery said: “We are thrilled to have won this opportunity to host a day of activities with the Chapman Brothers.
“Every vote really did count and we are so grateful for all of our supporters, who took the time to vote for us.
“Jerwood has long admired the Chapman Brothers and we are looking forward to bringing two of Hastings’ most well-known exports back home for a very special evening, which promises to surprise and delight.”
Details will be announced shortly.
