TALENTED teenagers are putting the finishing touches to an upcoming concert in town.

Rehearsals are underway for Showtime at Sussex Coast College Hastings at Station Plaza, which promises to be an extravaganza of dance, musical theatre, opera, folk, rock, classical, and tap dancing.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 26 from 7pm in the college’s atrium.

Among the acts will be the cast of Hair, a musical production, which will be on at the White Rock Theatre on April 6 and 7. They will be singing a couple of numbers.

Showtime is a joint production featuring the best acts from Hastings Musical Festival (HMF) alongside talented performers from the college.

Molly Townson, chairman of HMF, said: “Showtime has something for everyone. It’s an affordable treat for all the family and will be pure entertainment, with more than 40 talented musicians, singers and dancers performing in a fantastic space. I see this concert as a natural development that HMF and the college work together both offering the very best to our young people and I look forward to exciting ventures together in the future.”

Janak Patel, the college’s principal, said: “The Hastings Musical Festival has a worldwide reputation for musical excellence and we have a great venue here here at Station Plaza, not to mention some extremely talented staff and students.”

There are 400 seats available for the show. Tickets are £2 from the college reception. A small number of tickets will be available on the night for £3.

The college is offering readers the chance to win 10 tickets for Showtime. Email your answers to this question:
