The beach has made it to a list of the final 12 beaches in a contest run by rental company HolidayLettings.co.uk.

Saskia Welman, a spokesperson for HolidayLettings.co.uk, said: “Littlehampton is included in our final list as it offers a romantic background for couples and a great location next to the River Arun.

“We would encourage all those that adore this beautiful beach to get behind them and vote!”

Sofia Chittenden, from Littlehampton Council, said: “Our beach is fantastic for individuals, couples and families.

“Being a sandy beach with friendly lifeguards makes it an ideal destination for children as well.”

To vote for the beach to win, visit Holidaylettings.co.uk before Wednesday, August 31.

The winner will be announced the following day.
