There is really only one contender for this week’s front page. Following a lengthy trial, four men had been jailed for carrying out a brutal attack on Alfie Peak, which left him brain damaged.

Zack Dangerfield, 25, of Preston Road, Bexhill, John Panice, 26, of Wartlington Drive, Bexhill, Stephen Luck, 26, of Kinscott Close, Bexhill, and Thomas Unwin, 25, of High Street, Ripley, in Derbyshire, were convicted of GBH with intent at Hove Crown Court.

The inquest into the death of Sally Brampton, who was found dead at Galley Hill, revealed there were two missed opportunities to save the life of the journalist, who suffered with manic depression.

Concerned residents expressed their fears about traffic problems in Little Common and the review into whether Bexhill should have its own town council has been branded ‘a farce’.
