“We are again entering Bexhill in the Coastal Category and we hope that our new sea front will make a big impression, as will the Bexhill in Bloom Marina Flower Bed which this year celebrates the Colonnade Centenary.

“The tour will also take in such places as Little Common, Highwoods, Bexhill Community Allotments, Egerton Park and the winning school of the youth competition, which this year is to Plant A Seaside Garden.”

Sandy added she wants to appeal to everyone to help brighten up the town, by putting out tubs and hanging baskets, not just for the judging dates but for the summer. Entry forms for Bexhill in Bloom can be collected from the Bexhill Observer office in Sackville Road and completed forms returned to the Observer by the closing date of June 30.

Sandy is also opening her garden at 294 Turkey Road tomorrow (Saturday June 4) from 11-4pm with a visit from Town Mayor Cllr Stuart Wood at 2pm. The £5 entry includes a strawberry cream tea. Gardening items and plants will be for sale and a fundraising raffle will be held in aid of Bexhill in Bloom.
